| 5lb weight loss - it's been a bumpy ride! |
Despite the 3-month wait to lose 5lbs, I am very excited about how my body shape has been changing; skirts that were so tight I had trouble doing them up are now fitting loosely, and I can see myself fitting into the next size down in my closet very soon. It helps me to stay motivated, both with my updated eating habits, and with my exercise, although last week's exercise chart does a poor job of showing that.

| Actual Activities - C25K - Week 7 |
At the beginning of this current push to get into shape, I had a high-level plan that involved following several racing plans of different lengths and intensities:
- Couch to 5K (I'm calling it at Week 8 - I
ranjogged for 28 minutes today, and was bored to tears, so I'm moving on. The last two weeks of the C25K plan just add a couple of minutes to the overall run-time, and the first three weeks of my next program are the same, so I'm moving on.) - Running 5K (10 week program)
- Hal Higdon's Novice 5k program (8 week program)
- Hal Higdon's Intermediate 5k program twice (8 week program)
- Hal Higdon's Novice 8k program twice (8 week program)
- Hal Higdon's Intermediate 8k program twice (8 week program)
- Hal Higdon's Novice 10k program...
You get the picture, I'm sure. The thing that I like about Hal Higdon's training programs, is that they incorporate other activities besides running, and yet they are progressive. For me, both of those things are very important. In the past, I've tried to exercise with my strength training as the focal point, and while I do get buff, my cardio has no focus, and so I lose interest rapidly.
For now, moving into the 5k Run program, my training for the next 10 weeks looks something like this:

I have no doubts what-so-ever that I will end up extending that past 10 weeks (can anyone say Christmas!?!?!) but I'm also fairly certain that if I even complete half of what I have planned, I will see a dramatic difference in both my weight and my clothing size. Which bodes well for a potential shopping trip to Arizona in March and an all-inclusive vacation to Mexico in April to get my scuba-diving certificate...
